Memory From:
Kane ,United States, Earthquake 1989 San Fransisco
I was born in San Francisco and lived there all my life and of the many things I remember was the day in 1989 when The World Series between San Fransisco and Oakland was about to begin and our house and everything in it started to shake , I was 23 at the time and a big fan and this was the big day.
We lived with minor tremors over the years but nothing like this everything was falling off shelves and smashing luckily nobody was hurt from our family , so the worst part was WHEN WE ALSO LOST THE WORLD SERIES THAT YEAR , now many years later I am sure we would have won if nature had not interviened.

I will never forget the 911 attack on the WTC. I was in 7th grade, and I can still remember what I was wearing that day. I will never forget

My cousins first visit to Santa

raj0019, India, My cousins first visit to Santa
Priya's first visit to see Santa was so memorable. She had just turned seven and had been home just over a year. Even though she'd been with us for one previous Christmas, a lot of it went right by her since she had only been home a few weeks. As we walked into a big, fancy mall. Santa had never crossed my mind. We went to look at all the incredible decorations they are known for. As we walked into the center of the mall, I had to think fast and I said, "Can you believe it! Can you believe it!!! Santa is HERE!" Well, we waited in line and I'll tell you, I was so happy. She looked at Santa with stars in her eyes. She was in awe. Nothing casual or blase about her emotions. I think if I had pushed her, she would have floated up to the stars!!! We got a great picture of her hugging Santa. And I mean hugging. And last night, as we were talking over the day (which we often do), she said, "...and today, I saw Santa...!"
Christmas 1959

With Christmas just round the corner and seeing all the parents at the shops picking presents for their children reminded me of my best ever Christmas as a child
My father was in the Navy and many Christmas times he was away , but I remember the year 1959 because he was home for most of December and my parents were acting very secrative .
Anyway Xmas day came and normal toys and sweets in my sack at the end of the bed and I started playing with them as any normal kid does, and go in to wake my parents up to show them what santa had left ( I still believed in Santa at 8 ) and my dad tells me Santa left a note with him about something he couldn't get down the chimney and I would find it outside.
Still in PJ's I rushed outside to find the coolest blue bike I had ever seen in my life with a bell and lights .
Now you must remember my parents were quite poor so my dad had bought an old bike and spent the month of December cleaning it, fixing it and painting it , that present sticks in my mind more than any other because I can now imagine how much work and time my parents spent on it and how much love must have gone in to it
I would like to thank my parents so much for that and all the time and love they gave me as a child
